The Park City Public Art Advisory Board announces a Call to Artists for an Art on Loan Sculpture Exhibit in Park City as part of a yearlong sculpture exhibit.

The Public Art Advisory Board wishes to expand opportunities for residents and visitors to experience quality works of art by facilitating outdoor display of sculpture throughout the community. This is a yearlong art-on-loan sculpture exhibit which will feature three outdoor sculptures to be displayed in Park City.

The Park City Art on Loan Sculpture Exhibit will host a variety of artwork introducing viewers to many different artists and their artistic approaches. Works that express a Park City “sense of place” are encouraged, but not required. Applications will be reviewed by the Public Art Advisory Board and selected based on their appropriateness of work, images and descriptions of the work. City Council has final review and approval of the Public Art Advisory Board’s recommendation.

The Art Board has initially selected three locations in City Park: one at the Miners Hospital and two in between the Park City Library and Park City Skate Park. The Public Art Advisory Board will determine placement of sculptures. Park City hosts many exciting events throughout the year including the annual 4th of July Celebration, local marathons and biking events, Triple Crown Fast Pitch Softball in the summer and Sundance Film Festival and world class mountain sports competitions in the winter. City Park is a centralized gathering spot in the community.

Pieces need to be ready to install and able to sustain the outdoors without maintenance for one year. The pieces need to be able to endure Park City’s harsh, snowy winters. Transportation, installation and removal are the responsibility of the artist. The concrete pads (4’x4’) will be installed by Park City Municipal Corporation. Artists will be responsible for providing a small plaque (6”x6”) to be installed with the sculpture. The plaque should contain the artist’s name, artwork title, and artist’s contact information.
