Summit County and the City of Coalville, Utah, are pleased to announce Call for Entries for the 2011 to 2012 outdoor public art sculpture gallery, Summit County Artscape. This public art exhibit is open to all artists who wish to be considered to show their work on Main Street, Coalville, Utah, from May 2, 2011-April 30, 2012.

This year’s show will be accepting up to 10 outdoor sculptures for Coalville, Main Street. This is a chance to market your work in Coalville’s new Pocket Park at 55 Main Street, in front of the Summit County Courthouse, and other highly visible locations on Main Street. Coalville entertains thousands of visitors every year who attend the Summit County Fair and rodeo, the National Triple Crown Girls’ Fast Pitch Softball Tournament, family reunions, and other events throughout the year. Your piece will be publicized as part of the Artscape program through press releases and photographs on this webpage.

Pieces need to be ready to install and sustainable outdoors without maintenance for one year. Transportation is the responsibility of the artist.

Coalville City will label the work with artist name, title of the work, and price. Coalville City will provide a cement pad base and bolts for installation of the piece. For more technical specifications about installation, see below in Information & Downloads and click on “Technical Specs”.

Summit County Artscape will host a variety of artwork introducing viewers to many different artists and their artistic approaches. Works that exhibit a Summit County “sense of place” are encouraged, but not required. One goal of Artscape is to add at least one piece to the exhibiting municipality’s permanent collection each year. Coalville will raise funds up to $5,000 to purchase one piece. Selection of the piece will be accomplished by on-line voting for the “Peoples Choice Award.” For more information about the People’s Choice Award, see below in Information & Downloads and click on “People Choice Awards”.
