Several of you have asked about the new artists coming to Gallery MAR, and we are excited to reveal the first of the season: Sarah Winkler!

Winkler’s expansive, layered landscapes are both grounded and otherworldly—each painting a visual excavation of the Earth’s surface and story.

“Blue Pines in Valley Fog,” 60″ x 60″, acrylic

Working from her studio at 9,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies, Winkler incorporates crushed minerals and ancestral pigments directly into her work, fusing the geological with the painterly in a truly unique practice. Her signature process mimics erosion and deposition, glacial movement and time, revealing striated vistas that feel both ancient and vividly contemporary.⁠ ⁠

A British-born artist who has lived across five continents, Winkler brings a global perspective and a deep reverence for land to each composition. Her works have graced the walls of The Cosmopolitan Hotel, Deer Valley Resort, and over 100 prominent collections across North America. Named one of ARTSY’s “Women Painters on the Rise,” she continues to inspire with her intuitive blend of science, art, and storytelling.⁠ ⁠
