New Gallery MAR Fine Art Consultant, Samuel Mangum, with owner Maren Mullin
We are delighted to welcome Samuel Mangum as the newest Fine Art Consultant here at Gallery MAR. With a deep appreciation for creativity, a diverse professional background, and a thoughtful, people-first approach, Samuel is a natural addition to our team—and we’re so excited for our collectors to get to know him.
In his role, Samuel works alongside Gallery Director Leslie Wright and Gallery Owner Maren Mullin, guiding collectors through the art selection process, offering personalized consultation, and helping each client connect with artwork that speaks to them. “I love helping someone find that special piece,” he says. “That moment of connection is what it’s all about.”

Samuel brings nearly a decade of gallery experience to his new role, including time as a gallery director and private art consultant. He’s spent years helping collectors find exceptional pieces, whether on Main Street or across the country. He also ran his own art installation and consulting business, where he advised collectors on display, restoration, and presentation. And while he’s often behind the scenes helping others discover art that they love, Samuel is also a practicing fine art photographer. He primarily shoots in black and white film, often exploring rich shadows and unexpected juxtapositions in urban architecture and candid portraiture. His personal work enriches his understanding of artistic expression from both sides of the frame.

Growing up in Utah Valley and now living in Salt Lake City, Samuel’s love of art started early thanks to the influence of his mother, a talented watercolorist and acrylic painter. That early inspiration, combined with his education in art history and marketing, led him into a life of working with and advocating for artists. He’s traveled widely—living for over a year in Western Europe with his family—and brings a global perspective to his artistic sensibility. Yet he feels most at home in Utah, where his passion for rock climbing, skiing, and the outdoors fits right in with Park City’s lifestyle and community. “There’s no other mountain town like it,” Samuel says. “And I think the people who live here or visit here—they get it. It’s a special place.”

When it comes to the artists of Gallery MAR, Samuel says he’s continually inspired. “There’s a boldness in the work here. It’s modern and current, but also honors tradition. I really admire the way Maren curates—there’s nothing else like it on Main Street.” He cites Bridgette Meinhold, America Martin, and Warren Neary as a few personal favorites, drawn to their expressive, unique approaches. “Gallery MAR artists are courageous,” he says. “To put your voice out into the world like that, especially today—that’s bravery.”
Equally important to Samuel is the culture of Gallery MAR itself. “The teamwork and professionalism here are just incredible,” he shares. “There’s a high standard, but also this very human approach. It’s about connection—with art, with each other, and with our collectors.”

That spirit of connection is something Samuel holds close. “I want collectors to know they have a friend here,” he says. “Whether they’re locals or visiting, if they want to talk art, grab a drink, or just get a recommendation for things to do in town—I’m here for that. We’re here to build relationships.”
Please stop in and say hello to Samuel next time you’re on Main Street—we know you’ll enjoy meeting him just as much as we have. Welcome to the team, Samuel!
