Nina Tichava has had a very busy fall. In addition to works for her national galleries, she is also exhibiting in two museum shows, below. Tichava will bring a show of her fresh work to our gallery in March, and will join us for our Mullin Meadows Artist Residency Program in 2020.

The first exhibition is the Seven State Biennial, which opened in September and runs through May, 2020. This is a traveling exhibition at the following venues: The University of Science and Arts Museum, Chickasha OK and the Museum of the Red River, Idabel OK followed by the Charles B. Goddard Center, in Ardmore OK. If you are close to these venues, please plan to visit.

The second exhibition is really exciting. Minority Majority: Women Artists of New Mexico will open in June of 2020 at the NMSU Museum, in Las Cruces NM. The “Minority Majority” show, which includes Agnes Martin and Judy Chicago, is curated by Tonya Turner Carroll and I cannot wait to see the entire group of work. What a brilliant idea.

From the artist herself, “I’m thrilled to have my work garnering museum attention—thank you all for your support throughout the years, I don’t take it for granted!”
