Gallery MAR was pleased to host another “Art and Wine Walk” by the Fox School of Wine, Park City. This private tour visited three galleries on Main Street where the guests not only enjoyed wine and food pairings, but the wine was also paired to the art. Guests from all over the country enjoyed a fresh, new perspective in wine pairings.

Billoud-Simon Premiere Cru “Villion” Chablis 2016 (Chablis, Burgundy, France) was paired with Mountain Moon Gouda Goat Cheese. These two were paired with Park City artist, Bridgette Meinhold and her encaustic landscapes. Though an ancient art medium, 18th century French artists were part of a European renaissance of the wax medium, and so appropriately viewed while sipping a French Chablis. The Mountain Moon Gouda evokes the mountain landscapes captured by Meinhold.

The next featured artist was Alison Rash and her newest collection, “Beauty from Ashes.” Rash is battling breast cancer and pays tribute to many friends who are heroes in this fight to survive. Each painting is named for a hero and features mammography-like patterns in vibrant colors. Many paintings in this series present shades of pink like the ribbons worn to support the cause. Fox served Ponzi Rose 2017 with Organic, Bombay Spiced and Roasted Chickpeas.
