Along with creating unique and inspiring artwork for our gallery collectors, Joe Norman has his hands in many creative jars…

SCULPTURE

Here in the gallery we have several pieces by Norman, including my personal favorite the “Seed Pod.” You can read more about his sculpture on Norman’s blog here: “Seed Pod” inspiration.

We have recently signed on to show a new body of work with Norman, in March of 2016, and as the two of us chatted we got to discussing his studio. Like many artist, Norman didn’t feel like his was “ready for prime time” and was uncertain about sharing photos of the space. But I’m so glad that he did. Isn’t this a rad space?

“Here’s a few photos of my old shop and new.  The old shop (below) is a detached building on our property that is now a dedicated wood shop.  The new shop (top) has less of a patina, but that will change as I put holes in the walls and sling some paint around.” – Joe Norman

The building cooperative that Norman is a part of is called Artworks (http://www.artworksloveland.org/), a community of visual artists devoted to creating and learning. They encourage individual and professional development through a working studio community.  Artworks Loveland opened the studio community in spring of 2012, just forty-five minutes north of Denver.
