MAGICUS QUADRATUS by Jylian Gustlin at Gallery MAR
In her Magicus Quadratus series, Jylian Gustlin uses visual lines as a metaphor. The tens place is represented by thicker lines and the thinner lines are representing the ones place. In a “magic square,” every direction of each column and row adds up to the same number. In these paintings, her goal is to create a beautiful abstract painting using mathematical reasoning, much like her beloved Fibonacci series. Enjoy the new paintings, below.
