A note from Maren Mullin, owner:

This week, we decided to ask the experts: our staff at Gallery MAR! When it comes to the frequently asked questions, these ladies know what’s what, and do a terrific job of running the gallery each day. We are open 263 days a year — so they really do see (and hear!) it all. Take a look below to learn more the the ladies who really run the gallery.

Are your artists local?

We represent over 35 artists from all across the country (and a brand new artist from Germany), working in a variety of media and subject matter. However, many of our artists are local to the Park City and Salt Lake City area including artists Bridgette Meinhold, Glen Hawkins, Cristall Haper, Jonathan Julien, Aaron Memmott, and Ron Russon.

Do you offer discounts?

We show professional, museum-quality artists who have a national presence. Many of our artists have been collected into regional or even national museums. You’ll see them on the cover of national art magazines. We believe in ethically representing our artists, and building lasting relationships with buyers; therefore, we do not inflate the prices you see on the wall cards just so that we can then offer you an enormous discount. Our artists set the prices.

Can I try this work out in my home?

We have several options to assist you with making the best decision. If you live nearby, we will bring the work to your home, hang it on the wall and let you live with it for a few days. Purchases are always guaranteed, so if you receive the work, and it’s not perfect, you can return it for a full refund.

Can someone deliver/install this piece for me?

All of our Fine Art Consultants are trained in delivery and installation and are more than happy to assist with local deliveries and installations. We also recommend Aisling Art Installation for more complicated local deliveries and installations or when a Gallery MAR Fine Art Consultant is unavailable. For clients outside of the Park City/Salt Lake City area, we are happy to offer White Glove shipping and delivery for an additional fee.

What if I want this piece framed?

Our artists ensure that their work is clean, professional, and aesthetic from all angles, so framing is never necessary; however, sometimes a sleek new frame might be just the thing to tie your new piece in with the rest of your home’s style. When that’s the case, we highly recommend local framers, Right Angle Picture Framing for all of your frame needs.

How does the commission process work?

Although all of our artists’ work are completely original and one-of-a-kind, sometimes our clients are looking for something more personalized. Perhaps you’re looking for a sparkling portrait of your family dog by Cristall Harper or a custom-made encaustic painting of your favorite snowy landscape by Bridgette Meinhold. Regardless of what you’re looking for, we can help you bring your vision to life. Simply call or email Gallery MAR with the artist whose work you would like to commission, the size that works for your space, and the subject matter, colors, and content that you’re considering. From there, we will work with the artist to arrive at a price point and an initial sketch of your vision to ensure that we’re all on the same page. Once this sketch and price point are approved, we ask for a 50% deposit on the work. Depending on the size, we will give you an estimated time frame. Once the work is complete (usually within 3-6 months), we will send you an image for your approval. From there, you can approve the work or request a few minor changes. The artist will then make any changes if necessary before shipping the work right to your home.

Here’s what my space looks like…could you recommend me some options?

We also offer Photoshop services for long-distance collectors wanting to get an idea of what the painting would look like on their wall. All we need is an image emailed to the gallery (a few measurements for scale are helpful but not required), and we’ll handle the rest.

What’s the shipping process?

We can do UPS 3 day ground with insurance if the size permits, or if it’s a large painting we will offer our local art transport and try to get the most affordable pricing depending on how soon you need the painting in your home.

If you have any other questions that we have not addressed above, please feel free to shoot us an email at info@gallerymar.com or give us a call at 435.649.3001 and one of our Fine Art Consultants will be more than happy to assist.
