New to the gallery is a series of concentric circles from New Mexico-based artist Jamie Burnes. This series beautifully exhibits the artist’s recent turn to finished and polished CorTen steel on his work. Using a rot-resistant cedar wood the join the circles, each sculpture is custom designed and built by the artist in his studio outside of Santa Fe.

If you have often visited the gallery, you have delighted in witnessing his life-sizes horse sculpture. You can see a few videos of his sculpture’s entrances and exits on our Instagram page as well. We always love to make a scene — with his artistry!

Born in Boston and still very connected to that area, Burnes has earned a long list of shows, exhibitions, collections and awards, as well as appearing in numerous publications in his field. Graduating cum laude from Skidmore College with a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art was Jamie Burnes’ illustrious start in the art world. Since his graduation, his inventive and curious personality is reflected in his choice to portray natural wildlife in wild combinations.

Burnes easily wields heavy and industrial items such as CorTen steel, cedar wood, rocks, wires, and other durable material to construct forms of airy grace and beauty.
