This month I took a trip to visit figurative and landscape painter Kathleen Peterson. She welcomed me into her home and studio, which she and her husband re-built with the help of their family and friends.
Not only a talented painter, Peterson is also a mosaic artist and fantastic baker- I was lucky enough to taste her famous muffins. The light in her studio is incredible and highlights the textures and bright color variation in her work.
She is currently exploring a series of Balance pieces with figures trying to make sense of their situations: jugglers, tight-rope walkers, and young lovers. Peterson was featured in Utah’s 15Bytes E-Zine this year. |
